about

"Black Mirror" is a neo-noir that struggles with masculinity/identity, entangled sexuality and violence, and questions why we bother to love at all. This record is our first ever LP and we never could have done it without the support of all our fansz. Share the record, tell your friends, help us make LP2. Though the subject material can be heavy at times, we promise it's worth the listen. Please dance, don't cry, we hope you enjoy the album.

Fondly truly,

The Wayne Z-boysz

Track Name: Sweetness
today i exist only in consequence
and i am feeling so very insignificant
when all you've left me is some fragile line of poetry
and the memory of a smile so deceiving

and will you be in your apartment tonight?
will i be in your mind?

and how many times will i read your goodnights
before i hear the whispers of your best wishes?
sleep well tonight, dream well in spite
of all persistent haunting and the certainty that we will die

and will you be in your apartment tonight?
will i be in your mind?
Track Name: Kiss Me In The City
when everything you say to me resounds so sweetly,
it ferments in mind
and when you kiss me you're thinking of the city,
ms. pretty don't be so kind

oh what's the use in staying here
it'll never be alright for you and i

and when you kiss me you're thinking of the city,
it ferments in mind
you say our love can make it so what's the use in breaking--
tell me what you're waiting for
while i'm staying here you're slipping out the back door

and so there's nothing left in michigan

oh what's the use in staying here
it'll never be alright for you and i
Track Name: In The Morning
these walls are too thin, it's easy to eavesdrop and
i don't really mind what i've been hearing
you say it's nothing--that love is a mistake or something
but i don't really mind what i've been feeling
you're always coming by in the middle of the night,
you're not mine
but then you're here in the morning

always coming around just like you do

and your face is blurred with careful whispers
but i don't really mind what i've been hearing
the touch of your skin is softer than satin
but i dont really mind what i've been feeling
i'm always coming by in the middle of the night,
you're not mine
but then i'm there in the morning

always coming around just like you do
Track Name: Yr Jewelry
i'm wearing your jewelry
once rested on your vanity
i waste my lovers softly
as we're slipping through the night

"your love won't change overnight?"
"my love won't change overnight"
--i'm wandering tonight
Track Name: Tell Me Lover
sitting here, you twist me in every little way you know
wring me out and kiss me, i don't want you to go
you were lookin' to me like you're so damn groovy--i'm not so quickly charmed
and anyway i only wanted to see you, but i won't tonight

so tell me lover, what's gone wrong?
you've got me all up waiting all night long
for something better
--wearing your sweater

and wouldn't you kiss me like someone i knew you could be?
in some spitting world ever-fermenting--i'm never content to be
and you were lookin' to me like you're so amusing--i'm not so easily charmed
and anyway i only wanted to see you, but i won't tonight

still, <del>lover</del><ins>lauren</ins>, don't you know?
i'm loving you more than ever was
and tonight i will cry
Track Name: <div></div>
change yr mind
Track Name: Winter Perfume Waning
come back to bed
where we know eachother best
where the winter bites at our necks
and every snipping day-saint sins
on the east side of the city,
where once we were becoming

come back to bed, where we know eachother best
your wintry perfume, how it is waning--i've some explaining to do
i'll gaze in the darkened reflection pane
i know that this hipline should be plank

black mirror

would you ever give in?
would you ever give in?
would you ever give in,
were i pretty as a woman?
Track Name: Bandages
you're looking at me now and i don't know what to say
medicine from the mouth is poison in the brain
and wet black streaks are scarring the side of your face
i watch you undress and sleep in the mess you made

you'd look prettier dead
so i'll take you by the hand and direct you to the bed
you'll strain your lungs into the pillow crying
no no no

after it is done, i can see the stains on your teeth
and the sides of your face seem to lack all symmetry
i will forgive and never forget,
i won't deny my philosophy's amiss
these words are poison delivered through the lips
stating it simply: ignorance is bliss

you'd look prettier dead
so i'll take you by the hand and direct you to the bed
you'll strain your lungs into the pillow sighing
oh oh oh
Track Name: Exfoliate
changing my sheets twice this week
washing out the scent and residue
every little thing that is left of you
we can't escape
suspicious-concretely we created
every part of me i can't keep straight

wandering out and loving around
you twist me up when talking me down

i want you dead
swallowing you up
wouldn't be enough

i want you dead
you wanted love,
how's this for some?

funeral flowers fall;
wandering out, sweetly fermenting, loving around
your winter perfume wanes and you run me out
of lansing
Track Name: Atrophy For Lethargy
i've been suckling for far too long
i've been slowly letting the fires die down
i've been smashed and broken, i must pick myself together
if i have the will--if i can find it still

oh, i'll make the same mistake and make it three times more
i don't ask for permission, most only for forgiveness
and i would make amends, but i am such a chore
and in my defense i've been shattered on the floor
but i am just a man, whom do i answer for?

and you'll catch me playing with myself in the corner
i am lost now, i have been mourning my own self
just put me in the ground
cuz oh, i've been dead--i've been dead awhile now

oh, i'll make the same mistake and make it three times more
i don't ask for permission, most only for forgiveness
and i would make amends, but i am such a chore
and in my defense i've been shattered on the floor
but i am just a man, whom do i answer for?

my face has grown old, my face has grown cold
i'm sick to the stomach and i made it so
my mind has grown old, my body's necrosed
my muscles are atrophied and i made it so
my heart has grown cold, my heart has old
i am a monster and i made it so
Track Name: Some Collagist
chasing the memory of some collagist wallowing in moments
selfish, faultless, and nothing
so wish a quick death for these amnesiacs
hopelessness and still hoping
again
